Alexander Matson
Senior Software Engineer
I turn problems into products.
Building software that ships, scales, and stays fast. Currently leading AuraTrack.
What I usually do
From idea to production. Every step of turning problems into working products.
Build
I turn business problems into technical solutions. Model analysis, product strategy, and architecture. From concept to a system designed to scale from day one.
Ship
I turn code into production-ready features. Tested under real traffic with real users. What ships is what works.
Run
I turn deployments into reliable systems. Monitor, optimize, and keep products fast as they grow.
AuraTrack
Local tournaments deserve to feel professional. I built AuraTrack to make that happen.
I've spent my life on tennis courts, baseball fields, basketball courts, and padel courts — competing since age three. No matter the sport, the same frustration always existed: while professional leagues offer epic broadcasts and real-time data, local tournaments are still organized with crumpled paper spreadsheets and chaotic WhatsApp groups. AuraTrack was born to eliminate that organizational friction in clubs and elevate the level of play, so any amateur athlete can experience the excitement, data, and atmosphere of a professional competition.
The Impact in Numbers
8 months of organic, self-funded growth with zero advertising spend:

Traction driven by direct word-of-mouth and personal relationships.
My Trajectory
I focus on designing software with purpose, optimizing critical workflows, and leading engineering teams toward real value delivery.
- 2025–Present
Building AuraTrack
Sports tech — Next.js + Laravel (PWA)
- Product leadership and UX: Defined the technical roadmap and platform experience design, prioritizing ease of use for non-technical users and field referees.
- Architecture and scalability: Designed a Laravel backend highly optimized for fast real-time queries and a modular Next.js frontend, achieving minimal load times under concurrent traffic spikes.
- Monetization strategy: Structured a multi-tenant database architecture and integrated payment gateways to enable automated subscription billing for clubs (SaaS).
- 2024–2026
Full-stack Engineer → IT Director
Avante Bureau Shipping
Maritime operations — Laravel + Vue.js
- Engineering leadership and rapid promotion: Promoted to IT Director in just 5 months, assuming full architectural decision-making and total responsibility for the infrastructure and engineering team of the maritime holding.
- Mission-critical software engineering: Designed and developed 7 proprietary internal systems, including automated vessel budget calculation (PDA/FDA), quality control workflows under IMO maritime regulations (INEA), document management, and heavy cargo logistics monitoring.
- Strategic alliance and IoT integration: Negotiated directly with MarineTraffic to acquire 3 free corporate AIS antennas, integrating their API into internal systems to enable real-time satellite vessel tracking along the Orinoco River.
- Operational excellence: Led a team of 6 engineers through well-structured Scrum frameworks, implementing automated CI/CD pipelines and establishing technical KPIs aimed at reducing technical debt and production delivery time.
- 2022–2023
Business Development & Digital Products
F.G. Sales · Independent
Chicago, USA (Remote) — Laravel + Vue.js · E-commerce
- International e-commerce operations: Independently founded and operated an Amazon FBA business, managing international import logistics, margin negotiation with Asia/US suppliers, and technical conversion optimization for Amazon's algorithm.
- Growth-oriented data engineering: Co-developed with another engineer an affiliate commerce platform using Laravel and Vue.js, implementing real-time scraping engines for offer aggregation and automated monetization.
- User acquisition (Growth): Executed paid traffic campaigns on Google and Meta Ads optimizing conversion funnels targeting international markets, plus structuring monetization strategies on platforms like ClickBank and Hotmart.
- 2019–2022
Full-stack Engineer
Corporación Venezolana de Guayana
14 state-owned companies — Laravel + Vue.js · Scrum
- Enterprise-scale software development: Built and maintained critical technological solutions integrated into a state-owned holding of 14 major industries, deploying tools adopted by massive subsidiaries (including SIDOR, Venalum, and Ferrominera) for thousands of active users.
- Architectural modernization: Led the complete migration of obsolete legacy systems to robust Laravel architectures, significantly improving information security standards and overall server performance.
- Full software development lifecycle (SDLC): Responsible from functional requirements gathering with plant managers and relational database modeling, through agile testing phases to final production deployment.
